Ever feel like your body is running the show—even when your mind is saying, “Relax, it’s fine”?
Maybe you notice that tiny stressors (like an email notification or traffic jam, or a certain look from your spouse!) send you into fight-or-flight mode way faster than you’d like? Or maybe they send you into overwhelm and completely shut you down and keep you from moving forward with your goals and living your life in the way that you’d like.
That’s your nervous system hard at work. Its number one job is to keep you alive, which means it’s constantly scanning for danger—like a personal bodyguard that never takes a coffee break. The catch? It doesn’t always know the difference between a life-threatening tiger and a mildly annoying calendar reminder. So it hits the gas (fight/flight) or the brakes (freeze) when all you really need is a deep breath.
This isn’t a flaw—it’s biology doing exactly what it’s supposed to do. But over time, a hyper-alert system can leave you stuck in survival mode: tense, wired, and exhausted. The good news? With a little guidance, you can learn how to help your nervous system tell the difference between “I’m actually safe” and “sound the alarms.”
That’s where my Nervous System Skills Lab comes in!
These sessions are 1:1 educational classes where we explore how your nervous system really works and—more importantly—how you can help it find calm again. Think less therapy couch, more hands-on skills lab.
Here’s what we’ll do together:
Learn the basics of nervous system science — why your system sometimes overreacts, how it shifts between states, and what safety actually feels like in the body
Practice simple, do-anywhere tools — quick resets you can use in real life (before a big meeting, after a long commute, or even mid-conversation)
Track your own patterns with curiosity — noticing the signals your body sends, without judgment, so you can catch stress earlier
Build a personal regulation toolkit — a set of practices tailored to you that work at work, at home, or even in the checkout line at Target
These sessions are for you if you want to:
Feel less like you’re powered by espresso and adrenaline
Understand your body’s signals instead of fighting them
Bounce back faster after stressful days
Strengthen your capacity for calm without moving to a mountaintop monastery
✨ Bottom line: After a little time together in the Nervous System Skills Lab, you’ll discover that your nervous system isn’t broken—it’s protective. These sessions are about helping it fine-tune the difference between “life-threatening” and “mildly annoying,” so you can reclaim steadiness in everyday life. You’ll leave with less shame and self-criticism (your nervous system is always working in the service of your survival, after all!)—and more confidence, practical regulation skills, and maybe even a few laughs along the way. Because yes, believe it or not, learning about your nervous system can actually be fun! I do my best to make it that way, anyway!!
